Description: this is a Pacmanized tarball of the ATLAS software release
6.5.0 from the Nordugrid project.
Previous ATLAS-releases 6.0.4 , 6.0.3 , 6.0.2 and 5.3.0 are available as well.

Requirements:

Pacman version 2.100 or greater; For information about installing pacman, please see http://physics.bu.edu/~youssef/pacman
RH 7.3

To install:

1. create a "working directory"
2. cd to this directory
3. pacman get:

%pacman -get UCHEP:Atlas-nordugrid

To use:

A test package is provided. %cd to the same working directory, and then

%pacman -get UCHEP:Atlas-nordugrid-test

Now you have got 5 files in your "working directory"/atlas_ng_6.5.0_test :

- README.txt
- my_ATLAS-6.5.0.sh
- my_RecExCommon_links.sh
- my_RecExCommon_jobOptions.txt
- dc1.001003.simul.0001.test.h130_2e2mu_first10.zebra

Step by step procedure to run reconstruction under atlas_ng_6.5.0:

You can work with Linux RedHat 7.3(or higher) and use 'bash' shell (you can just type bash to run it on your PC for example).

1. define $ATLAS_LOCATION environment variable: path to atlas_ng_6.5.0 installation area. In our case this is just your "working directory" path. For example:

export ATLAS_LOCATION=/grid/data2a

2. cd "working directory"/atlas_ng_6.5.0_test/ and do:

source my_ATLAS-6.5.0.sh
source my_RecExCommon_links.sh

3. You are ready to run Atlas reconstruction ATHENA-example . Just do from your working directory:

athena my_RecExCommon_jobOptions.txt > athena.log

If it does something for a few minutes and at the end you see in your working directory a few Mb ntuple file ntuple.hbook and a sizeable log file athena.log, congratulations! You've just run successfully 5 events through athena reconstruction for the input partition 0001 of dataset 1003.
